Post-OSU Update: Vaughn Broadnax went undrafted in the 1984 NFL Draft. He spent time with Tampa Bay that year, but ultimately never played a regular season NFL game. Broadnax launched a business career after that, focusing on sales. (updated: June 2024)

1983 Media Guide: Has won three letters at Ohio State, playing 591.5 minutes in 31 games … has started the last two years … an excellent blocker who is unusually strong … will be one of the top fullbacks in the Big Ten and may win national honors.

1982: Ran for 514 yards and averaged an impressive 4.9 yards per carry.

1982 Media Guide: Primarily a blocker in Ohio State’s offense … moved to middle guard on defense midway in spring drills and played very well … enjoys playing defense … will be used where he can most help the team in 1982.

1981: Started ten games at fullback in 1981 for a total of 247.5 minutes … averaged 3.7 yards per try on 50 attempts.

1981 Media Guide: A painful muscle injury in his upper thigh restricted his play in spring drills.

High School: Did not come into his own at Xenia High until 1979, his senior year, when he ran for 802 yards on 150 carries and scored 10 touchdowns … started his first game in high school as a junior and had a 55-yard touchdown run on his first carry … was better known as a wrestler in high school … was the Ohio heavyweight champion in 1980 and was runner-up in 1979.
