1979: Averaged 41.5 yards per punt … a mild slump midseason cost him an even more impressive record.

1978: Averaged 43.7 yards per punt as a sophomore.

High School: Was a versatile athlete in high school winning 12 letters, four each in football, basketball and track … was a fine quarterback at Harding High.
