Major: Hospitality Management (1989-91)

Weight: 240 (1991), 230 (1989-90), 229 (1987)

1991 Media Guide: Steady performer who has started the past two years … he and Judah Herman waged a nip-and-tuck battle for the starting spot opposite Steve Tovar on the inside and that battle will likely continue right up until the first game in the fall … finished the 1990 campaign with 53 tackles, seventh on the team … started every game and logged 199 minutes of playing time … top game was seven tackles at Iowa … both of his tackles for losses came against Minnesota … very intelligent player … began his OSU career at outside linebacker, but was moved inside last year to take advantage of his size and mobility.

1990 Media Guide: Moved from outside to inside linebacker in the spring and made the adjustment with relatively little difficulty … A starter last year, he will be in the picture this year at his new position … ideal inside player because of his size, range and mobility … gives the Buckeyes another physical player inside … intense, intelligent player … originally set to enroll at OSU in the fall of 1987, but delayed his enrollment until the winter of 1988 due to a shoulder injury.

1989: Started 11 games and had 33 tackles … also credited with six tackles for losses.

1989 Media Guide: Outstanding athlete who could play, and start, at either of the outside linebacker positions … is especially strong versus the run, but is also solid on pass defense … OSU coaches like his intensity and intelligence … has excellent range and mobility … originally planned to enroll at OSU in the fall of 1987, but delayed his enrollment until the following winter due to a shoulder injury.

1988: Began the season as a backup to Michael McCray, but wound up being redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: A standout athlete, winning nine letters – three each in football, basketball and track … was the Class AA Lineman-of-the-Year as a senior, when he had 162 tackles… collected 472 career tackles … started three years at linebacker … became a two-way player his senior year when he started at tight end on offense.

PERSONAL: Hobby is drawing … admires Larry Bird and Howie Long … favorite foods are steak and lasagna … favorite actor is Clint Eastwood.
