1981: Ran for 1,217 yards and scored 12 touchdowns … second in the Big Ten in rushing with an average of 101 yards per game … had an 82-yard touchdown run on Ohio State’s first play from scrimmage … a first-team all-Big Ten selection.

1980: Started all 12 games at fullback and averaged 5.3 yards per carry … ran for 577 yards in 108 carries … scored eight touchdowns, including a 50-yard scoring run against Wisconsin.

1980 Media Guide: Has good acceleration and power … moved to fullback in spring drills to compensate for the loss of Paul Campbell and Ric Volley.

1979: Played tailback at a freshman and averaged 5.9 yards per carry in 37 attempts … caught four passes and returned seven kickoffs for 142 yards … divided the backup tailback spot with Jim Gayle … had a 33-yard scoring run against Wisconsin in which he ran over several would-be tacklers.

High School: Won all-Ohio and All-America honors in high school when he ran for 3,144 yards and scored 49 touchdowns.
