2019 Media Guide: Thayer Munford is the lone returning starter to the offensive line in 2019 and will be counted on to be a leader on that unit this fall … he started 13 games in 2018 as a sophomore before an injury cost him an appearance in the Rose Bowl … helped fuel an offense that broke numerous Ohio State and Big Ten records, including total yards per game (535.6/game) and passing touchdowns (51) … earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors … has played in 25 of 28 games over the last two years.

2018 Media Guide: Thayer Munford was one of the top freshmen on the team in 2017, played in 12 of 14 games and earned his first Varsity “O” letter … he was impressive this spring as well and is entering 2018 fall drills as a strong candidate for a starting offensive tackle position … his 202 plays last year included one against Michigan where he delivered a key block on Dwayne Haskin’s 22-yard run to the UM 1 … one play later Ohio State scored and took the lead for good in the 31-20 victory.

2017 Media Guide: Thayer Munford was rated as a 4-star prospect by ESPN, 247Sports and Scout with position rankings at offensive tackle as high as No. 22 by Scout and No. 30 by 247Sports … he was also rated overall among the Top 300 players in the nation with Scout’s No. 207 the highest.

High School: Munford is from Cincinnati, but he transferred to Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio for his senior season … ruled out of playing for much of the season, but was able to play final three games of the regular season and one playoff game … played his first three years of high school football at Cincinnati power LaSalle High School … Munford helped LaSalle win consecutive Division II state championships, in 2014 for coach Nate Moore and in 2015 for coach Jim Hilvert … was named third-team Associated Press all-state and first-team all-Greater Catholic League as a junior … named third-team Associated Press all-state and all-GCL as a sophomore … also competed in track and field at LaSalle … transferred to Massillon after the 2015 season when Nate and Becca Moore became his legal guardians.
