Post-OSU Update: Tanner McCalister wasn’t selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, but signed on with the Browns as a free agent. He was signed to Cleveland’s practice squad for the 2023 season and managed to play in three regular season games, recording two tackles. After the season, he signed with the Broncos. While he was cut before the 2024 regular season, he signed on to Denver’s practice squad and again played three regular season games, recording a tackle. (updated: Mar. 2025)

2022: Played in and started in 12 games for the Buckeyes in 2022 after playing in 41 games and starting 23 times as an Oklahoma State Cowboy … totaled 24 tackles and a team-best three interceptions plus one pass break-up … he recorded his first interception as a Buckeye in the win over Wisconsin and then had two interceptions in the win over Iowa

2022 Media Guide: Tanner transferred to Ohio State from Oklahoma State and enrolled in classes in January of 2022 … graduated from Oklahoma State in December of 2021 with his degree in finance and has one year of eligibility with the Buckeyes … has a superb understanding of the defensive schemes run by new Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles.
