High School & JUCO: When he was having an excellent senior year at Boardman High, a teachers strike abruptly ended the season … disgusted and disillusioned, he quit school … ultimately he earned a high school certificate and entered the College of DuPage in Illinois … he won junior college All-America recognition his first year but an injury his second year ruined the season … in 1984, he ran for 1,383 yards, averaging 7.6 yards per carry and scored 11 times … his injuries limited him to 581 yards in 1985.
