Post-OSU Update: Rod Smith was undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, but signed with Seattle post-draft. He played one regular season game with the Seahawks in 2015 before being cut. He caught on with the Cowboys and played ten additional games in 2015. He played four more NFL seasons, mostly with Dallas. He finished his NFL career with 364 yards rushing (3.6 YPC), 30 receptions for 272 yards, and six total touchdowns. (updated: Nov. 2023)

2014 Media Guide: Rod Smith is a fifth-year senior who has more games played, carries, yards and rushing touchdowns than any back on the Ohio State roster … a powerful and bruising running back, he enters his senior season having played in 33 games … stats include 448 yards rushing off 83 carries with four touchdowns and a fine 5.4 yards per carry average … he didn’t lose a yard rushing until his 76th rushing attempt from scrimmage (a loss of five yards vs. Penn State last year), and the play remains his only attempt for lost yardage … as a receiver, Smith has eight career receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown.
