Post-OSU Update: Mike Weber entered the 2019 NFL Draft (he had another year of eligibility) and was selected with the 218th overall pick (7th-round) by the Dallas Cowboys. Weber has never appeared in a regular season NFL game, but spent time on practice squads. He has since played in the USFL and most recently signed with the Montreal Alouettes. (updated: Jan. 2024)

2018 Media Guide: Mike Weber is an outstanding running back who ran for over 1,000 yards as a freshman, added another 600-plus yards during a sophomore season that was slow to start because of injury and is now healthy and ready to be a big-time producer for the Buckeyes … he and sophomore J.K. Dobbins give the Buckeyes one of the best one-two punches at running back in the Big Ten and possibly nationally … Weber, a fourth-year junior, is a veteran of 25 games with 13 starts … he enters the 2018 campaign with 1,722 career rushing yards and a career average of 6.1 yards per carry … he also has 33 career receptions for an additional 185 yards, six 100-yard rushing games and 19 rushing touchdowns … he rushed for 626 yards in 2017 and scored 10 touchdowns, all while coming off the bench … he displayed breakaway speed, as well: he went 82-yards for a score against Michigan State and he had four runs of over 40 yards … had a career-best 53-yard reception vs. Maryland … he rushed for a career-high 162 yards against Michigan State’s No. 3 rated rush defense.
2017 Media Guide: Mike Weber is coming off a fine freshman campaign last season and 2017 spring drills and expectations are high for this third-year sophomore … he’ll lead a young running back corps that is still inexperienced and features just one other letterwinner on the roster (sophomore Demario McCall) … Weber was named a freshman All-American in 2016 after he rushed for 1,096 yards in his rookie season and caught 23 passes out of the backfield, for 91 yards … Weber became just the third Ohio State freshman to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season, joining Robert Smith (1,126 yards in 1990) and Maurice Clarett (1,237 yards in 2002).
2016: After red-shirting the 2015 season as a true freshman, Weber took over at running back and played in and started all 13 games for the Buckeyes … he rushed for 1,096 yards, averaged 6.0 yards per carry, scored nine touchdowns and led all freshmen in the Big Ten with 84.3 rushing yards per contest … Weber racked up a career-best 144 yards on the ground against Rutgers, including one score, and was named Big Ten freshman of the week … also earned Big Ten freshman of the week honors after a 111-yard effort in the 17-16 win on the road at Michigan State that included one score and a career-long rush of 52 yards … had multi-touchdown games versus Indiana and Northwestern … topped 100 yards rushing – 136 – in his first collegiate game, vs. Bowling Green.
2016 Media Guide: Mike Weber red-shirted the 2015 season as a true freshman … he came through the 2016 spring drills in an even battle with fifth-year senior Bri’onte Dunn for the starting running back position that opened up when No. 4 overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft Ezekiel Elliott elected to turn pro after his junior year.
