1983 Media Guide: Seemed set at defensive tackle in the spring of 1983, when he had a stress fracture in his foot, missing virtually all of spring practice … extremely strong and highly competitive.

1982: Was moved to center, but returned to defensive tackle toward the end of the season.

1982 Media Guide: Injuries have kept him from any action for two years … was moved to center in spring drills of 1982 and has impressed the coaches with his talent.

1981: Played only 6.5 minutes.

1981 Media Guide: Underwent surgery last January and has the green light to play this fall … still an unknown because of the injury … considered an excellent prospect provided he is physically healthy.

1980: Entered Ohio State in the fall of 1980 and sustained a torn knee ligament that kept him out of action all season.

1980 Media Guide: Will be used either at linebacker or middle guard at Ohio State … an aggressive athlete who thrives on contact.

High School: Won all-Ohio honors at Howland High as a linebacker and offensive tackle … his high school team won only two games his final two years.

Personal: Hobbies are hunting and sailing … admires Eric Heiden and Alex Karras.
