Rice and Pittsburgh … has been a solid reserve throughout his career … was in the running for a starting spot in 1995, but did not have enough hours to compete and had to sit out the season … has all kinds of talent, but has been hurt by missed practice and playing time because of academic woes … has played in a total of 18 games.

1996 Media Guide: Sat out last year because of academic responsibilities … returned in the spring and was able to play on a limited basis … his return in the fall will greatly bolster the Buckeyes’ depth both from a quality and a quantity standpoint … has the size and ability to be a very good football player … would have contended for a starting spot last year had he been able to play … is a good pass blocker and has really improved his technique since enrolling at Ohio State … has missed a lot of football and has a lot of catching up to do.

1995 Media Guide: A leading candidate to start at right tackle … made giant strides last year and was one of the most pleasant surprises on the team … was not even on the depth chart at the beginning of fall camp, but was the backup to Korey Stringer by the end of the season … saw action in 10 games, including the bowl game … played 22 minutes against Houston and 14 against Purdue … has worked hard to improve his technique … needs to lose weight in order to be more effective and sustain his play over the course of a game … will be a fine football player if he improves as much this year as he did a year ago … he and Eric Gohlstin were neck-and-neck for the starter’s spot at the end of spring ball and are expected to resume their battle in the fall.
