Post-OSU Update: Larry Grant was selected in the seventh round (214th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He was waived before playing there, but was picked up by the Rams later in 2008. He played six seasons in the NFL, the first three with the Rams followed by a two-year stint back with the 49ers. He last played regular season football with the Bears. Grant played 68 games (11 starts), making 95 tackles and five sacks. After football, Grant got into coaching at the high school level. He also worked with the UNLV staff, but is now back at the high school level. (updated: May 2023)

2007 Media Guide: Strong side linebacker who made an immediate impact for the OSU defense last year in his first year in the program … was the primary backup at middle linebacker in 2006 but showed the ability to play all three linebacker spots.
2006: Played in 12 games and started the Bowling Green game … collected 18 tackles on the season … blocked a punt in the win at Northwestern and recovered it nine yards down the field … intercepted a Northern Illinois pass at the 8-yard line in the season-opener and returned it 49 yards to midfield … 13 of his tackles came in the final six games of the season, including a season-best four vs. Minnesota … forced a fumble in the win vs. Cincinnati … had the team’s hit of the week vs. Texas and was named the team’s special units player of the week vs. Northwestern.
2006 Media Guide: Arrived at Ohio State for spring quarter classes and spring practice … had two tackles in the spring game … impressed coaches right away with his speed and athletic ability … recruited out of high school as a tailback but became a standout linebacker at the junior college level and is expected to continue that in the Big Ten … is the first junior college transfer signed by Jim Tressel at Ohio State.
Junior College: The 2005 Junior College National Player of the Year … first-team JUCO All-American … 2005 California JUCO Player of the Year … played all three linebacker positions for CCSF, which was the 2005 national runner-up … totaled 85 tackles, six interceptions and blocked six punts in 2005 … had 90 tackles, six sacks, six blocked punts and four forced fumbles as a freshman at CCSF and ran a fake punt 65 yards for a score.
High School: Played for former OSU assistant coach Dick Walker … rushed for 450 yards on 35 carries (12.9 avg.) as a senior and scored six touchdowns.
