2013 Media Guide: Kenny Guiton is a senior leader on this football team … he leads in the classroom, weight room, film room, locker room and on the playing field … and like Michael Jordan, who always could finish on the break, Guiton is a finisher for the Buckeyes … in relief of Braxton Miller last season, Guiton either finished off a touchdown drive started by Miller or led the Buckeyes on a touchdown drive in eight of his 15 series at quarterback … his most spectacular appearance was the nearly two quarters and 27 offensive plays from scrimmage against Purdue, after Miller was sent to the hospital after a vicious slam to the turf … Guiton’s stats – 6 of 11 passing for 77 yards with one touchdown and one
interception – can’t touch the magnitude of his efforts that day … undefeated Ohio State was trailing Purdue, 22-14, with 47 seconds to play and the ball at the Ohio State 39 … thinking the game was over, fans were leaving Ohio Stadium … Guiton completed passes of 39 yards to Devin Smith and 8 yards to Evan Spencer to get to the Purdue 11 … moments later he took a snap with eight seconds left to play and found Chris Fields for a two-yard scoring pass to bring the Buckeyes within two points of the Purdue lead and some of the departing crowd back into their seats … Guiton then completed a two-point conversion pass to Jeff Heuerman for the game-tying score … in overtime, he completed a 17-yard pass to Jake Stoneburner on second-and-10, and then calmly finished off the Buckeyes’ five-play, game-winning touchdown drive … here’s more 2012 good stuff from Guiton: he ran three plays to finish off an opening drive touchdown in the 17-16 win over Michigan State … trailing Nebraska, 17-7, he came into the game for two plays to finish off a touchdown drive … and his third-quarter shovel pass to Carlos Hyde went for 14 yards and a score, and gave the Buckeyes a two-touchdown lead in the three-point win over Indiana … Guiton may enter his senior season with only 15 appearances (games played in) at quarterback and 25 passing attempts, but he clearly prepares himself well and he is tested … he even earned the nickname “Coach” last season from Coach Urban Meyer because of his knowledge of the game and his preparedness.

2012 Media Guide: Kenny is in his fourth-year with the football program … a one-year letterman, he has the skills and athleticism to do well in coach Urban Meyer’s Ohio State spread offense … Kenny came out of the 2012 spring drills listed as the backup to Braxton Miller, and Meyer has indicated that he is comfortable with his abilities.

2010: Saw limited action behind Pryor and Bauserman versus Indiana and Purdue … scout team workhorse: Marshall, Ohio.

2010 Media Guide: Dual-threat quarterback with unlimited potential … eager student who possesses an abundance of football savvy … has gained noticeable benefits from the off-season workout program.

2009: Redshirted for the Rose Bowl and Big Ten champions … scout team workhorse: New Mexico State.

High School: Dual-threat quarterback with unlimited potential … led Coach Ray Evans’ team to the district playoffs … 1,846 yards passing, 140 yards rushing, 21 TD as a senior … 2,592 yards passing, 329 yards rushing, 29 scores as a junior … District 19-5A offensive MVP … all-greater Houston and all-district … point guard for the basketball Eagles and a hurdler in track … honor roll student.

Personal: Son of Veronica and Kenneth Guiton.
