Major: Hospitality Management (1988-90), Business Administration (1987)

Weight: 207 (1988-90), 200 (1986-87)

1990 Media Guide: A talented athlete whose career continues to be plagued by injuries … sat out last year with a shoulder injury … switched from flanker to defensive back in the spring, but suffered a knee injury early on and underwent arthroscopic surgery … hopes to come back and play in 1990, his fifth year … came to Ohio State as a highly regarded quarterback, but hand and shoulder problems necessitated a position change … with his speed and size, safety could be an ideal position for him.

1989: Began the season at flanker but did not play due to a chronically sore shoulder.

1989 Media Guide: Shifted from quarterback to flanker last spring because of a chronic shoulder condition that restricts his throwing motion … runs very well and will contribute as a member of the specialty teams.

1988: The No. 2 signal caller behind Greg Frey … played in three games and completed one of two passes.

1988 Media Guide: Came on strong late in the spring and played particularly well in the spring game, completing 13 of 23 passes for 171 yards and leading the Scarlet team to a 21-16 win … got almost all of the work at the No. 2 quarterback spot the last week of spring practice and really seemed to benefit from the extra attention.

1987: Played a total of three minutes in three games, dividing his time between quarterback and wide receiver.

1986: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Distinguished himself as both a drop-back and an option quarterback at Andrews High School … won honorable mention All-America recognition at quarterback as a senior… led his team to 9-3 and 8-3 records his junior and senior years, respectively … threw for 13 touchdowns as a senior, completing 74 of 145 passes for 1,275 yards … also scored four rushing touchdowns.

PERSONAL: Skiing, swimming and riding motorcycles are his hobbies … admires Walter Payton, Dan Marino and Michael Jordan … favorite foods are pizza, shrimp and peach pie … father is a retired banker … favorite movies are Dead Zone, Rambo and Rocky.
