Pronunciation: Kuh-CHUR-ski
Major: Communications (1990-91), Arts & Sciences (1988)
Weight: 240 (1990-91), 245 (1988)
1991 Media Guide: Has played in just one game the past two years due to two separate injuries to his right knee, but is nonetheless being counted on this year to be one of the leaders of the Ohio State defense … great athlete with tremendous quickness … has a flair for making big plays … started the first game last year and had four tackles, including two sacks, before being hurt in the first half and undergoing surgery the following week which kept him out of action the rest of the year … went through spring drills, minus heavy contact, and seems to be fine physically … if he is any semblance of his old self, it will be a tremendous boost to the OSU defense … has worked tremendously hard to rehab his knee this past year.
1990 Media Guide: Returns to action after sitting out all of last year with a knee injury … was given medical clearance in the spring and appeared to be his old self in terms of quickness and speed … will start on the rush side … an extremely valuable addition to the OSU defense because of his ability as a pass rusher … has also played nose guard and defensive tackle for the Buckeyes.
1989: Injured his knee in the spring and underwent surgery that caused him to miss the fall.
1988: Played in 11 games and started four times … had 36 tackles, including 10 for losses and a Big Ten high nine sacks.
1988 Media Guide: A down lineman last year, he moves to outside linebacker this year … expected to start opposite Michael McCray … physical player with outstanding quickness … alternated between nose guard and defensive tackle last year … the unexpected loss of Derek Isaman this year (trying out for the Olympic Boxing Team) necessitated his move to outside linebacker … played well in the spring and could be very good once he learns the position.
1987: A backup middle guard and defensive tackle … played in seven games and totaled six tackles.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Riverhead High School as a sophomore and Milford Academy as a junior and senior … had an incredible 47 sacks his last two years.
Personal: Hobby is lifting weights … favorite food is pizza … admires Joe Klecko.
