1979: Decided not to return to college in the fall of 1979 but changed his mind and reported two weeks late and out of shape … was not ready to play the opener with Syracuse and played only seven minutes in the second game with Minnesota, when injuries struck down several tackles … became a starter in the third game and was a standout by midseason … was a major reason for Ohio State’s dramatic improvement on defense over the 1978 season … made 64 tackles and had eight lost yardage plays … played 240 minutes.

1978: Saw no game action as a freshman.

High School: An all-Michigan tackle at Kettering High in Detroit … won letters in football, track and swimming.
