1984 Media Guide: Became the most improved player on the team in spring practice … a likely starter at split end … extremely quick and hard to bring down in the open field … a dangerous kickoff return specialist … caught six passes in one 1984 spring game and four in the other.

1983: Shifted to offense in the spring of 1983 … played briefly in nine games, catching two passes, including a 47-yard touchdown against Minnesota.

1983 Media Guide: Has been moved from safety to flanker … has good speed and once he becomes familiar with the pass routes, he should be able to get open.

1982: Played in one game.

1982 Media Guide: Was a standout in the 1982 spring game, when he returned two kickoffs 64 and 63 yards each.

1981: Entered Ohio State in 1981 as a defensive back with the reputation of being a hard hitter … played in one game.

High School: Won all-Ohio honors at Mifflin High … in a high school game, he carried four times and had touchdown runs of 56 and 46 yards and scored a third time on an 80-yard interception return … played safety on defense and tailback on offense … averaged 40 yards per punt as a senior … ran for 500 yards as a senior.
