Post-OSU Update: Jalyn Holmes was the 102nd overall pick (4th round) of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Holmes played his first three years with the Vikings, starting nine games in his third year. The following three years he played with the Saints, Bears, and Jets. 2017 Media Guide: Jalyn Holmes is like a starting defensive end just without the starts … this true senior has played in 37 games the past three years and is coming off a season in which he played 400 snaps on defense plus an additional 35 plays on special teams … he ranks third among current Buckeyes with 11.0 career tackles for loss … he also has 55 career tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and a pass break-up … Holmes is a favorite of the media on the Ohio State football beat. He isn’t afraid to switch from interviewee to interviewer, as he did numerous times last season. He’s an engaging young man who has a personality every bit as large – albeit humble – as his frame.
