2000 Media Guide: Henry Fleming, Ohio State’s largest starting offensive lineman (6-6, 305 pounds), is primed to enjoy his finest year ever as a Buckeye – and things are aligned for that to happen. After battling a string of injuries and illnesses for his first two years, including a bacterial infection that caused him to lose 25 pounds, the always quiet and mild-mannered Fleming will enter the 2000 season healthy and with 11 starts from last year to learn from. He is listed as the projected starter at right tackle on the preseason two-deep and with the exception of Tyson Walter, is the team’s most experienced offensive lineman. “Henry has been injured a lot and couldn’t do a lot of lifting,” George Belu, offensive line coach, said. “He needs to get that strength back and he will. He moves his body around pretty well for weighing over 300 pounds.”

1999: Played in all 12 games and started 11 at right tackle … played 219 minutes, the fourth most of any OSU lineman … logged a season-high 30 minutes in the 20-17 win at Minnesota … played 20 or more minutes in seven games.

1999 Media Guide: Henry Fleming is a student-athlete Buckeye fans and opponents could hear a lot about in 1999. This massive true junior, who is most comfortable under a big floppy hat and wearing fatigues, spent the entire spring drills as the apparent starter at right tackle. He was healthy throughout as well and the practice repetitions coupled with his aggressiveness, height and quickness, will make him tough to beat out for the starting spot this fall. He has played in 15 games and 80 minutes during his career.

1998: Was expected to challenge for a starting tackle position but was limited in the spring by an ankle sprain and in fall camp by a bacterial infection that caused him to lose 25 pounds. Wound up as the backup at right tackle and ended up playing in nine games for a total of 64 minutes. Played 12 minutes vs. Toledo and nine vs. both Minnesota and Northwestern.

1997 Media Guide: Should get an immediate look up front due to last year’s losses … was an all-region and all-area pick in high school … was a three-year letter winner in basketball … hobbies include playing basketball and listening to music … enjoys being in front of a crowd and playing the game of football … person he admires the most is his mother, Mable Fleming … has one brother, Patrick … born 7-25-78.
