Post-OSU Update: Duron Carter had academic troubles in his one year at Ohio State. He was ineligible for the Rose Bowl following the 2009 season. In the spring, his academic indifference continued, leading to his transfer to Coffeyville Community College in Kansas. Carter then transferred to Alabama, where his career was derailed by failed drug tests (marijuana). He transferred to Florida Atlantic after never having played at Alabama. He did not suit up for the Owls, either.
Carter pursued an NFL career, but was not drafted in 2013. He spent time in the spring with two teams, but was cut by both. He then finally caught on in the CFL, making two All-Star teams in his career. Carter has also coached high school football in Florida. (updated: Jul. 2023)
