Weight: 230 (2005), 190 (2003)
2006 Media Guide: Will be in his second year as the Buckeyes’ long snapper … played well last year in his first year as a regular … hard worker and very consistent … stepped in last year and played with confidence and maturity.
2005: Took over as the starter and centered for placements and punts.
2005 Media Guide: Will take over the long snapper duties this year from three-year regular Kyle Andrews … has been Andrews’ understudy the past two years, but has played in just one game during that span – last year’s win over Oklahoma State in the MasterCard Alamo Bowl, where he centered on Ohio State’s final punt of the game … has big shoes to fill for the ultra-dependable Andrews, but has been a consistent performer in practice and is a hard worker … at an important position given the emphasis the Buckeye coaching staff places on the kicking game.
2004: Was again the No. 1 backup for both placements and punts … made his college debut in the Alamo Bowl.
2003: Backup long snapper for both short and long snaps, but did not play.
2002: Walked on but did not play in any games – redshirted.
High School: Played his first two years at Tuscarawas Central Catholic and then transferred to Indiana Valley following the completion of basketball season his sophomore year … was a three-sport standout, starring all four years in football, three years in basketball and two years in baseball … played linebacker and running back and won all-league honors as a junior and senior … began long snapping in seventh grade … was a member of the National Honor Society and class valedictorian.
Personal: Is the son of Andy and Kathy Norman … has a younger brother, Tony, who is a freshman (2005) long snapper at the Air Force Academy … hobbies include all sports … is a NASCAR fan (Sterling Marlin is his favorite driver) … wants to start his own engineering firm someday.
