2016 Media Guide: Super-quick H-back Dontre Wilson is the most experienced skill position player on the roster, with 33 games played over the past three seasons … he has accumulated 2,277 all-purpose yards to also rank first among skill players (excluding quarterback J.T. Barrett) and his 50 receptions for 573 yards are also tops on the team … he also has the most kickoff return yards – 1,218 to rank fifth all-time at Ohio State – and has 136 punt return yards, figures that have helped him to be positioned on the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award this season … Wilson injured a foot during the 2014 Michigan State game and has had some nagging issues at times since then, but he sprinted with the Ohio State track team this winter and spring and appears set for a big senior campaign … a three-year Varsity O letterwinner.

High School: Led DeSoto, coached by Claude Mathis, to the Texas Class 5A Division I state semifinals as a senior by rushing for 1,895 yards and 37 touchdowns and catching 37 passes for 750 yards and nine scores … DeSoto finished 14-1 on the season … Wilson finished his high school career with over 3,200 rushing yards, 1,200 receiving yards and 81 touchdowns.
