Post-OSU Update: Dave McTier left Ohio State after his serious knee injury to continue his education at Tallahassee Community College. From there, McTier joined Florida A&M where he hoped to play football. Injuries derailed his career there, too, and he graduated in 1985. (updated: Apr. 2024)

High School: Won all-Florida honors at Eustis High his senior year … did not become a starter in high school till midway through his junior year … ran for 500 yards and passed for 1352 yards as a senior … threw 13 scoring passes … was captain of the football and basketball teams … his top gridiron thrill came in high school when he threw three touchdown passes to overcome a 15-0 halftime defecit.
