2017 Media Guide: Chris Worley is the man in the middle of the 2017 Ohio State defense … a 39-game veteran for the Buckeyes with 14 starts at outside linebacker, Worley made the move to middle linebacker from the strong side this spring and does so with high recommendation … “He’s just a really, really smart football player; he’s a guy who I think understands the game at a very high level,” defensive coordinator Greg Schiano said. “You know, we lost what I think is a man’s man in Raekwon McMillan, just a really fine football player and a smart football player, and we needed to make sure we tried to replace him with a guy who has that kind of presence about him.” … Worley is a fifth-year senior who has 98 career tackles and four pass break-ups.

2016 Media Guide: Chris Worley is a talented linebacker who has paid his dues and is on the cusp of becoming a major contributor and starter for the Buckeyes … he started the very first game he played in
at Ohio State – the 2014 season opener at Navy – and he’ll more than likely start his next game for the Buckeyes … in between have been two seasons of consistent and effective support work and special teams effort playing behind the talented NFL first-round draft pick Darron Lee … Worley, a two-year Varsity O letterwinner, has played in 26 games the past two seasons and has been on the field for 210 snaps on defense … he has been credited with 28 tackles, including 21 solo stops.

2015: Worley played in 12 games for the 12-1, Fiesta-Bowl champion Buckeyes … he was in on 17 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for losses totaling four yards … he registered his first quarterback sack in the win over Penn State … tied his personal bests with five tackles and four solo tackles in the win over Michigan.

2015 Media Guide: Since arriving at Ohio State, Chris Worley has switched positions – from safety in 2013 to linebacker in 2014 – he has gained weight and he is fast becoming a fine linebacker for the Buckeyes … after red-shirting the 2013 season as a true freshman, he earned his first Varsity O letter last season.

2014: Worley played in 14 of 15 games for the College Football Playoff national champions and earned his first Varsity O letter … he earned a start in the first game he ever played in – the season opener vs. Navy – and played 52 snaps on defense while recording his personal best five tackles, four of those solo stops … he finished the season with 11 tackles with eight of those solos, and he also contributed on special teams in each of the games he played.

2014 Media Guide: Chris Worley red-shirted the 2013 season as a true freshman … he moved to strong-side linebacker this spring after practicing all last year at safety.

2013 Media Guide: Christopher “Chris” Worley was one of the final prospects in this Class of 2013 to commit to attending Ohio State, doing so on Jan. 11 … a special mention Associated Press all-state pick
as a senior, Worley led Glenville, coached by Ted Ginn, to an 8-2 record his senior season by recording 89 tackles with nine sacks, five interception returns for touchdowns and five forced fumbles … for his career he had 161 tackles, 13 sacks, eight interceptions and seven forced fumbles … a Top 25 senior prospect in Ohio (No. 20 by 247Sports and No. 25 by ESPN) … Worley extends a streak of Glenville Tarblooders signing NLIs with Ohio State to 12 consecutive years … 19 Tarblooders have become Buckeyes since 2002, including four current members of the team – Marcus Hall, Christian Bryant, Cardale Jones and Devan Bogard – and past greats like Super Bowl players Donte Whitner and Ted Ginn (San Francisco 49ers) and 2006 Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith.
