2013 Media Guide: 2012 first-team All-American (ESPN.com) Bradley Roby is a talented, athletic and fast (consistent 4.3 40s) cornerback who has started all 25 games the past two seasons … expect this fourth-year junior, who has five career interceptions in addition to 23 pass break-ups, to be one of the best, if not the best, cornerback in the nation in 2013 … Roby was a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award in 2012 when he led the nation in passes defended with 19 (17 pass break-ups, which tied the OSU single
season record, and two interceptions) and 1.73 per game … was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press and Walter Camp … a first-team all-Big Ten Conference performer by both the coach and media polls, Roby was the only defensive player in the nation last year to score touchdowns three different ways (recovered a fumbled punt in the end zone vs. Miami; he recovered a blocked punt in the end zone vs. Indiana; and he intercepted a pass vs. Nebraska and returned it for a touchdown) … he blocked a punt in the one-point win at Michigan State and he was third on the team in tackles with 63 … his impact games included four pass break-ups in the win at Penn State and a two-interception game vs. Nebraska, including a momentum-shifting 41-yard “pick six” in the 63-38 victory … he tied a personal best (California) with seven solo tackles in the win over Michigan … he set a personal best with nine
total tackles vs. California … had three pass break-ups vs. Indiana.
2012 Media Guide: After red-shirting the 2010 season as a true freshman, this talented and speedy cornerback stepped up when he had the opportunity and started all 13 games at cornerback in 2011 … he tied for the team lead with Orhian Johnson with three interceptions and he also was in on 47 tackles, including 3.5 tackles-for-loss (totaling 23 yards) … his 57 interception return yards topped the team and included a 36-yard return vs. Illinois (to the Illini 12) that set the Buckeyes up for a momentum-swinging, second-half score in the 17-7 win … Bradley ranked in a tie for ninth in the Big Ten Conference with nine passes defended (three interceptions; six pass break-ups) … he also was tied for eighth in interceptions … he recorded his first career interaction against the Miami Hurricanes and also picked off a pass vs.
Michigan State … he set a season-high with six solo tackles in his first game as a Buckeye – vs. Akron – and he matched that solo total vs. Purdue and Florida … had seven total tackles vs. Purdue … coaches presented him with the 1st Year Defensive Player Award as the outstanding first-year player on defense.
