2017 Media Guide: Billy Price is a returning first-team All-American and all-Big Ten Conference performer who will be one of the top centers in the nation and a Rimington Award candidate … he is following the trail blazed in 2016 by teammate Pat Elflein in moving from guard to center as a senior … Price has started every game the past three seasons, including the 2014 campaign when Ohio State won the inaugural College Football Playoff national championship … he is the unquestioned leader along an offensive line that returns four of five starters from a year ago … he graduated in May 2017 with his degree in business administration with a specializing in operations management … Price has started 41 consecutive games and he is on pace to break Luke Fickell’s school record for starts and consecutive starts of 50, set between 1993-96 … Pat Elflein has played in the most games for an Ohio State football player: 55.

2016: For the third consecutive year, Price started every game to increase his total to 41 games played and 41 starts … he was a leader – he was voted one of the team’s captains – and one of two first-team
All-Americans along the offensive line that also featured three first-year starters … the unit helped the Buckeyes lead the Big Ten in rushing at 245.2 yards per game and rank 11th nationally … Ohio State also lead the Big Ten in total offense for the third time in four years, and it included a school-record 776 yards of total offense against Bowling Green … the team’s offensive line unit was also one of three nationally selected as a finalist for the Joe Moore Offensive Line of the Year Award … before the season, Price travelled to Jamaica as part of the Athletic Department’s Soles4Souls program, immersing himself in the Jamaican culture while being exposed to the impact on a community that giving a pair of shoes to those in need can have … and in July he spent a week interning at the headquarters of NIKE, in Beaverton, Ore.

2016 Media Guide: Billy Price, a senior academically and a junior in eligibility, is set to start at offensive guard for a third consecutive season … a fine athlete for his size and widely regarded as the strongest player on the team, Price was selected as a third-team all-Big Ten performer last year by the league’s coaches and he will be in line for even greater accolades this season … he has played in every game the past two seasons and started 28 consecutive games, including all 15 games during the Buckeyes national championship season of 2014 when he earned freshman All-America honors … he has the honor of being named an “Iron Buckeye” award winner, which is awarded to six players bi-annually for unquestioned physical training dedication, determination, discipline, toughness and leadership … Price is a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete.

2015 Media Guide: Billy Price is a third-year sophomore who enters his second season as a starting lineman along the Buckeyes’ offensive line … after red-shirting the 2013 season as a true freshman, Price started every game for the Buckeyes in 2014 at offensive guard and performed at a rate that earned him freshman All-America honors … he is one of the most athletic of Ohio State’s big guys and also one of the strongest … Price moved from the defensive line to the offensive line in the fall of 2013 … is a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete majoring in operations management … he was named to the Academic All-Big Ten squad in 2014.

2014: After a red-shirt season in 2013, Price stepped into the starting lineup at one of the guard positions and proceeded to start all 15 games at guard for the College Football Playoff national champions … and this was after spending much of the 2014 spring season practicing at center … Price started the first three games of the season at right guard and then moved to left guard, where started the final 12 games … his play improved considerably as he gained experience and as the season wore on, and he was credited with making key blocks for critical touchdowns in crucial games: by J.T. Barrett vs.
Penn State and Ezekiel Elliott vs. Alabama … Price was named a second-team freshman All-America by both Phil Steele and Athlon’s … his play helped the Buckeyes rank ninth nationally with 264.4 rushing yards per game.

High School: Billy Price was the Associated Press’s 2012 Division I co-defensive player of the year in the state of Ohio (along with Gareon Conley and Tracy Sprinkle) and a first-team all-state pick … a consensus four-star prospect (ESPN, Rivals, 247Sports, Scout) … rated among the top 200 players in the Rivals 250 and a member of the ESPN 300, Price was the third Buckeye to commit to the Class of 2013 with his decision coming Feb. 13, 2012 … rated as the No. 17 defensive tackle nationally by 247Sports and No. 21 by Scout … helped Fitch to a 9-2 record in 2012 and to the state playoffs … also helped Fitch to the state playoffs in 2010 with a 10-2 record and again in 2011 … was named first-team all-state as a junior when he recorded 40 tackles with three sacks, 10 TFLs and an interception … coached by Phil Annarella … placed seventh in the discus at the 2012 Ohio outdoor state track and field meet after placing sixth in the shot and second in the weight throw indoors.
