Columbus, OH — Ohio State rolled up 602 yards in total offense and reached the 70 point mark for the second consecutive game.
OSU had 29 first downs, compared to four for the visitors, whose lone penetration into Buckeye territory did not come until late in the third quarter.
Junior tailback Pepe Pearson rushed for 103 yards and three first-half touchdowns and then gave way to backup Joe Montgomery, who added 109 yards and his first career score to pace an Ohio State rushing attack that totaled 369 yards.
In the passing department, Stanley Jackson completed six of nine passes and Joe Germaine eight of eight, good for 233 yards and three touchdowns.
David Boston scored two of those TDs and added a third on a 66-yard punt return, a play on which OSU had just eight men on the field.
The Ohio State defense was equally dominant, holding the Panthers to 120 total yards – 77 rushing and 43 passing. Pitt quarterbacks completed just seven of 18 passes.
With a two-game total of 142 points, the Buckeyes tied the previous school record of 142 points in consecutive games, set back in 1892. They also notched their first ever back-to-back 600-yard games in the same season. OSU scored on its first 10 possessions, racing out to a 65-0 lead.
