IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Buckeyes overcame a 26-14 deficit with 11 minutes to play and won at sixth-ranked Iowa, 27-26, when quarterback Greg Frey hit split end Bobby Olive on a three-yard touchdown pass with one second remaining. That pair also teamed up on a 21-yard scoring play with 6:34 left to cut the lead to 26-21.
It was Ohio State’s fourth straight win, moved the team into sole possession of second place in the Big Ten and gave Head Coach John Cooper his 100th career victory. In all, Frey passed for three touchdowns and ran for another. Linebacker Steve Tovar had a career-high 14 tackles and outside linebacker Jason Simmons added eight, including three for losses. Olive and Simmons earned Big Ten player of the week honors.
