Recap
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — For the second year in a row Indiana was undefeated going into the Ohio State game and for the second straight time the Buckeyes broke the Indiana bubble. It wasn’t easy this time, as the final margin was 24-22.
The two teams battled to a 14-all standoff in the first half, Ohio State’s victory margin came in the third period when the Buckeyes scored 10 points. Matt Frantz made his first field goal try as a collegian, a 43-yard effort, to put the Buckeyes up by three points. Ohio State’s Michael Kee recovered a Hoosier fumble on the Indiana 27 and three plays later Cris Carter made a leaping catch in the end zone for the deciding score.
A late fourth quarter Indiana drive resulted in a score but it wasn’t enough to end Ohio State’s win mastery over Indiana that now stands 30-0-1 since 1952.
Defensively, Chris Spielman and Kee were standouts with 15 and 12 tackles, respectively.
