Recap
Columbus, OH — Bobby Hoying delivered the knockout punch with two first quarter touchdown passes and then was KO’d himself in the third quarter, paving the way for backup Stanley Jackson to come off the bench and guide the Buckeyes to three second-half TDs and their 11th win of the year. With the Buckeyes leading the Hoosiers 21-3, Hoying suffered a concussion early in the third quarter and was done for the day. Enter Jackson, who promptly put the game away by directing OSU to three consecutive TDs on scoring drives of 77, 49 and 49 yards. The 42 points gave OSU 438 on the year, breaking the school record of 437, set in 12 games in 1974. Terry Glenn, still tender from a shoulder separation, had five catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns in the first half and then sat out the rest of the game. Hoying’s 202 passing yards gave him 2,737 for the year, breaking Art Schlichter’s single-season record of 2,551 in 1981. Defensive end Mike Vrabel picked up his 19th and 20th tackle for loss, tying the school record that he and Matt Finkes set in 1994.
